Race Wrap up!

We wanted to take a minute to thank everyone one last time for participating in the Shelter In Pace Virtualtramarathon. The feedback from everyone has been very positive, and based on the submissions, many of you really got after it! We had participants from all over the country with CA, CT, DC, GA, LA, MA, NH, NY, Ontario, PA, RI, and VT all represented.

We wanted to take a minute to call out a few outstanding performances which include Benjamin Feinson's 162km effort! He racked up all those K's over the course of 11 separate runs! Also Josh Burns took on an interesting challenge... running every street in Huntingon, VT which added up to 112km... So awesome! Lastly we wanted to shout out Kate Emmons and Aaron Rice who cranked out 336km on their bikes tackling an overnight trip around Lake Champlain... back to back centuries on loaded bikes, so cool!

Congratulations to everyone that participated and challenged themselves. Thank you again for coming out to support the Catamount Trail Association and the Vermont Community Foundation.  During these strange times your support means more than you can know.

Everyone's efforts this weekend were rewarded with raffle entries. With 180 total participants the total prize pool was $900. That money was split into (9) separate $100 prizes. In addition Skirack and Untapped both generously donated a few other items. Below you will find our winners! .

Thank you again everyone. We say it a lot, but that's because we mean it. We very much appreciate everyone's participation and we hope that you all continue to get out, challenge yourselves, and are staying safe.

  • All 5K distance run or rowed, and 15K rides must happen under reasonable social distance/quarantine standards set forth by your local and regional governments and applicable organizations. If you don't already know yours, do your research.
  • If you are a trail run/rider you must also follow all local and regional trail closures.  For instance, in Vermont, VT Forest and Parks have set some trail use standards for the current situation LINK. There are also some statewide and local trail closures in place as set by our valued Land Stewardship and Recreational coalitions. See this LINK for details on the Vermont Mountain Bike Association website.
  • You must log your verifiable run/rides with Strava, Garmin, Etc. by 12 midnight on Sunday May 17.
